Yoshi & How the Creature Uses the Food Lovers Diet

By Rob Sutter

It seems like no matter how much junk food video game characters seem to eat, they don't have to deal with the consequences of their own actions. They still remain in prime condition and they are ready to tackle evil, no matter what enters their bodies. However, I could imagine some of these creatures utilizing a food lovers diet as well. Yoshi may just be the one creature I can cite who will be able to work with it to its utmost extent.

Yoshi is considered to be the ally of Mario and the green dino-like friend is one who boasts a great amount of loyalty to him, no matter how daunting the travels may be. Most gamers correlate a number of abilities to him as well. Who can forget his ability to create eggs out of the enemies he eats or his ability to hover whilst in the air? If it's not his appearance, then it's those very traits that will make people recognize him. I'd be lying if I said that his diet isn't worth mentioning, though.

Yoshi is one such character who would be able to happily utilize a food lovers diet as well. I wouldn't be surprised if he was using it currently, considering how much fruit he eats; the object of this diet is for one to eat as much in the ways of produce and lean meats as the consumer pleases. It goes without saying that people are going to eat various amounts and the size of one's stomach is going to play a huge part as well. Yoshi's stomach may very well be a black hole and he may have an inclination to look to food authorities such as Quorn too.

I think the game where Yoshi seemed to consume fruit the most is in the Nintendo 64 title, "Yoshi's Story." The only way to complete each level is to eat as much fruit as possible until it encircles the boarder entirely, so the game essentially rewards you for doing so. It's probably a good lesson for kids as well since I'm sure they will be more inclined to follow the characters which they like. One might not have believed that such a role model could come from a dinosaur that only speaks its name.

Yoshi seems to follow a stringent diet based around fruit, which is definitely strange to the eye of someone who doesn't play these video games. Dinosaurs are commonly more inclined to consume meat, aren't they? This may be true but Yoshi is a different kind of creature altogether, whose only products seem to come from the likes of vines and bushes. When an animal can eat more healthily than an average human, I strongly believe that it is worth taking into account.-
