Marriage and therapy sessions can be good opportunities for personal discovery and growth. It all depends on how the concerned parties take the whole process. It is at this time when one is made to make deliberate efforts to face problems and engage in a serious problem-solving season. Ideally, the attempt is to give the necessary attention and concentration to set matters straight.

You should develop a curious attitude that will seek to stop judgmental conclusions and instead develop an inquisitive character. Furthermore, try finding your independence. Think about your self and start creating a space for yourself that you can easily factor out some things and work them out by yourself. This helps you not to over rely on your spouse for everything and therefore help to overcome some barriers.

Always do not approach the session with the mind of divorce. This will not work well nor will it make a big difference. It should be an effort to bring back normality with revived hopes. If in any case, you find that it being the kind of those feeling that will not work, then it will not be helpful. Put in your resources towards rebuilding the broken relationship not destroying the remaining part.

Lastly, focus on your growth. This means you have to stop trying to fix you partner and change the move to doing it in your own life. Focus on how you can become more responsible, assertive and less controlling if at all you identify those as your main barriers. Likewise, know that you are the key player in fixing the problems, not the therapists or your partner.
