There are so many Christians who start another year with certain plans of reading the Bible. Some of them reach their goals while others do not. There are also some who choose not to bother themselves with taking the words of God in a serious manner. The Holy book is the most important book that was ever written in history. It is a book that contains all words of a living God to open the minds of his children about godliness and life.

As his children, you are reliant on Scriptures, knowing and trusting this book is unfailing and incapable of being wrong through which Lord Jesus speaks to all his children. That reason alone will give you the knowing how important Sunday scripture readings to be the center of your worship services. You should sing it, preach it, and read it every Sunday.

Scripture readings are not your obligation and not a requirement but will always give you satisfaction and happiness in life. It means you trust God above all. Standing in front of the crowd while reading the bible could mean standing in his place while proclaiming his good words. And because his words are crucial to everyone, most of the church members have created a ministry involving scripture readings.

This kind of ministry is composed of individuals who are geared and well trained to preach the passage. There are many things to keep in mind when you teach those who are willing to join the ministry. It serves as a guideline in reading a scripture in public places. This also assumes that you are prepared before reading it.

First, try to determine the passage carefully. You should know and understand the tone, the genre, and main purpose for which it was made and written. Be sure to have an overall comprehension of what the passage means. Identify if the passage a meditative one that reflects on pain, persecution, or poetic ones.

If anyone has been tasked to read a specific passage, spend a few times in reading it to ensure you understand it. If this is not familiar to you and having a difficult time learning it, then it might be helpful to rely on other translations and research about it. If still unsure, ask someone who is experienced.

When you understand specific things, you need to practice more. As you read it, try to determine its flow and divisions to ensure you know the basic ways of pronouncing a word. And because you will be reading it aloud, then practice loudly. Read it from the beginning to the end until you are able to know its basic flow.

As you continue practicing, learn the words and phrases you need to highlight, look for natural places to pause and place where you need to decrease or increase volume. Your job is to comprehend what is in the scripture in a certain way that helps to understand without drawing attention. Be sure to practice those hard words so you will never hesitate to use them during services.

Be sure to prepare everything prior to services. As you see, the word of God deserves your effort and hard work. Once you halt or stumble, then it could mean you are not serving your brothers and sisters properly. The Bible is a great foundation of truth that will teach you the whole history of everything.
