How To Start Bible Study Groups

By Lucia Weeks

The Scriptures contain all the things that people should follow to live lives that have meanings. They usually contain virtues and good values. Most parishes speak about these virtues and good values through the sermons of the priests or the pastors.

A Sunday mass is not the only way that a person could be hearing about these pointers. He could be joining a Bible study in Chester CA group. If his parish in Chester, CA does not have this program, an enthusiast could be starting his own team. He should be considering several factors when he will be forming his own study program.

The reasons why they have gathered to have the Bible studied with should be determined by the individuals. New friends might want to be met as they could be newbies in these towns. Their faith in the Lord might want to be deepened by them, as well. These activities are participated with by Theology students for academic reasons.

They should be setting appropriate rules for the activity. For instance, they should see to it that they are observing confidentiality during the meeting. At certain points, a member will be sharing his personal story which he do not want to be sharing with others. He could be having an issue with his partner or his children. Whatever will be coming out during the gathering, they must be keeping it among themselves.

The persons should also set schedules for their meetings. They can schedule these discussions after Sunday masses. Since most people work during the day, the persons may have to schedule these gatherings during the night so that they can accommodate those who work during the day. This way, all members will be able to attend these events.

The leaders of these groups will have to be agreed on. The meetings will be facilitated by these leaders. The attendance of all members should be checked and their attendance records should be kept. These responsibilities might want to be rotated among themselves. For example, the groups will be led by certain individuals on Mondays, others on Tuesdays, and other persons for the rest of the week.

These persons should be settling housekeeping issues. They should be agreeing on where they will be meeting up. These events will usually be happening in the homes of these individuals. They should be determining whose residence they will be going to for the discussion. They should also be assigning who will be providing the refreshments and the duration of the activity.

Before these gatherings will be started, the grace of God should be invoked. This way, the Scriptures can be understood by them. With God amidst their presence, tighter bonds between them can be formed. After these discussions are finished, thanks should be said. Whatever is done, God should be placed first.

After several gatherings, they will be able to know each other better. The individuals should look out after one another since they are already in the same circles. If they notice some people who are absent for several days already, they may need to contact them. This way, they can help these absentees get back on track.
