Finding Out How To Be Saved By Jesus

By Tanisha Berg

There are numerous religions existing across this world. Some date back thousands of years. Many people consider themselves spiritual and religious, allowing these things to shape who they are and what they do. People associated with the Christian faith say there is Hell and Heaven. They say that their actions while living can determine where their spirit will go after it leaves the deceased body. This is why so many people are eager to know how to be saved by Jesus.

The answer to this may be different depending on who one asks. There is no universal truth when it comes to what it takes to get saved and even many who follow the same Christian faith disagree on how this is accomplished. No scientific evidence or other facts can be presented either, as every person is different and their walk in faith is just the same.

Still, there are some general guidelines that many take on when discussing this topic. Most agree that this is something internal and not external. It is about a person's own personal spirituality and faith. The importance lies in his or her relationship with this higher power.

A common belief is that through recognition of one's sins and status as a sinner, he or she can be saved. Some say that everyone is a sinner and the important part is repenting and accepting this to be true. Many holy texts suggest that no sin is greater than any other and all who sin are subject to the repercussions if they do not repent and ask for forgiveness. According to this faith, Jesus died on the cross for every sinner so that they might be able to live eternally.

Repenting is a focus point when it comes to this topic. People are told to do this and move in a positive direction, away from the sin. This is not something a person can always do alone. In fact, it often is said to require much guidance and help from the Holy Spirit, which can be given to those who ask. This Holy Spirit can transform an individual, making them into a new creation.

If a person has been forgiven, they should rejoice and be happy. They can then put their faith and trust in Jesus. A person has to strongly believe, without any doubt, that they are kept from Hell and going to Heaven.

Even with forgiveness and repenting for all one's sins, a person is expected to stay in touch. They should involve themselves in studying of the word and prayer. Followers are encouraged to turn their problems over to Him and have faith in his power.

These are not beliefs of all persons, especially not those of non-religious individuals. Every person's relationship with religion and connection with their spirit is different. While there is no universal answer or truth to the question of being saved, there are many general concepts agreed upon. Ultimately, this requires that individuals recognize their mistakes, ask for forgiveness and move forward in a positive direction and with faith in Jesus. Those who are saved are believed to go to Heaven, while others are banished to Hell.
