Briefing On Personal Conflict Mitigation And Resolution

Personal conflict normally takes many forms. The various forms vary, with some being serious than others. Conflicts arise from the long term choices that individual make as well as the immediate decisions that we make. The way a person solves them greatly depends on his or her character and integrity. Personal conflict mitigation and resolution is important to every individual.

To begin with, it is significant to establish the various sources of personal conflicts. First, the issue of taking responsibility takes a larger portion of conflicts. We have to decide whether we shall take responsibilities and consequences as well or not. Many of us also have challenges with ethics. Taking vengeance is another source. Most of us find it difficult to get back to persons who offended us.

Making big decisions that might change the life of person is another source. Also, person can get conflicts by choosing not to take part in a group activity which is not morally right. This is because the person will be destructed for not joining. It is crucial for an individual to know how to handle and alleviate personal conflict. This is because it can lead to health problems if not managed properly.

You are advised to write down your feelings always. Do it in a journal and keep it safe where no one else will access it. If you get a conflict, create your own time. You should look for time to meditate and do what you love best. You can for example walk into a quiet place and play your best music.

We should also teach ourselves to respond to situations as opposed to reacting. This will help us avoid arguments. We must not always have the desire to win arguments at all times. A person can impact a lot by giving in at times. We ought to be good listeners too and let others express their feelings fully. We should also avoid drawing much attention towards ourselves by desisting from talking too much of ourselves. We must also manage emotional response. When need arises, we should see a counselor to help express emotions.

One should understand his or her personal conflict style which helps in improving the ways of solving difficult situations. These styles are simply how a person behaves when me by difficult situations. One of them is competition. This is for the people who become aggressive and defensive in times of conflicts. It can be used best when there is need for quick decisions.

Collaborative management style. This is a style where one tries to bring people together in trying to find a solution. In this case, everyone is a winner, and each view counts. This style is highly cooperative. At the end, everyone is satisfied. Avoidance is also a style where an individual will chose to avoid arguments. This is for those who are not confident of solving the situation.

Finally, accommodation style. This is where we put the need of others ahead of ours. By doing this we encourage cooperation. We also have to be ready to take orders from others. This is a style for peace with others.
