When you are faced with the challenge of looking for a new role then there are things that you can do which will enhance your chances of landing your dream role.

Make sure you take all the opportunities that greet you when it comes to learning new skills it is best to aim to learn as much as you can. Make sure to learn as much as you possibly can and keep up to date with any new developments within your industry. You can learn through books, the internet, attending conferences and by attending courses.

Make sure you develop your own attitude, recruiters will assess your skills and work experience but it is also your personality that is important, if you come across as being polite and courteous then you are more likely to impress the person interviewing you.

Make the time to groom both your CV and your personal appearance. Looking smart and presentable will impress the recruiter and make you seem much more marketable.

Always make sure your online presence is professional and all personal social media accounts are set to private. It is also a good idea to make sure all pictures of you are fairly professional, i.e no shots of you in swimwear or under the influence of alcohol.

Try to build up your network of contacts as the more you have the more opportunities will open up to you. Having lots of business contacts looks good and increases your profile at the same time.

Before you attend an interview make sure that you do as much research as you can on the company. You should try to memorise important information and company facts and be able to reiterate them at your interview. This will show the interviewer that you are interested in the company as well as the role. Aim to make yourself as familiar with the company as possible.
