Power Of Your Subconscious Mind

By Roxanna Dolfing

As you probably already know, your mind is divided into two parts: The conscious and the subconscious mind. Obviously, these two parts of the brain operate quite different. The conscious mind makes choices, can accept or reject an idea and also has the ability to originate new ideas. The subconscious mind does not have the ability to accept or reject, makes no choices and cannot distinguish the difference between reality and imagination. The subconscious mind can be compared to a tape-recorder. It simply plays the tapes recorded into it.

So what is the hidden power of your subconscious mind? Dr Joseph Murphy explains that our mind is divided into 2 spheres - the conscious part of our mind and the subconscious part of our mind. The conscious part of our mind is our mental state when we are alert and are consciously aware of what we are doing everyday. When our conscious mind is active, we use our reasoning and logic when making decision in our daily processes. Thus everyday, we are constantly making decision when we are working, when we are planning our future, taking care of our health and even while we decide the paths to take in our relationship with our friends, family and with everyone we have in contact with. But that also inadvertently invites us to be consciously think about and be aware of the fears, anxiety, frustrations, anger that happen in our in everyday lives. The thing is, if you become too alert and in turn become too anxious and sensitive to happenings around you, will may develop these fears and worries even before they happen. That means that you are using your logical thinking to imagine all the negative circumstances that MAY happen. Then you will start to overwhelm yourself with all these negative emotions even before knowing whether they WILL EVER happen!

Day 1: 4 hours, 7 orders,Day 2: 6 hours, 4 orders,Day 3: 6 hours, 6 orders,Day 4: 6 hours, 7 orders,Day 5: 6 hours, 5 orders,Sum: 28 hours, 29 orders,I would say thats pretty close to 1 order per hour. Today, she worked for 5 hours, and I suppose you can guess how many orders she ended up with. If you answered 5, you were right! Lets explore this a little deeper. Day 1 was her first day on the phone, and she had seemingly no clue as to how many sales she could expect. The interesting thing is this: She had been sitting with me the day before listening to my calls. I had been working on the phone 6 hours that day, with 11 orders, and accordingly thats what she based her results on the first day. Knowing that on her first day she worked on the phone for 4 hours with 7 orders, thats pretty similar to the result I got the day she was listening. The problem is that everyone else has an average of one order per hour, which she experienced during her first day on the phone. So her second day on the phone, her sensory factors (hearing, in this case) had already picked up on that fact, and she started to adopt the belief everyone else around her seemed to be in love with; an average of 1 order per hour. Thus her result the second day was far from as good as her result the first day, and the result came close to 1 order per hour (10 hours, 11 orders). But the most interesting part is day 3, 4, 5 and 6, where the exact average is 1 order per hour.

You may have discovered that the most appropriate answer is never derived from what you consciously and anxiously forces your logical mind into providing it to you. Instead, it usually comes to you in an unexpected, or you may think, a miraculous way. The answer arrives when you let go and decides to take a slow walk; or even when you are taking a relaxing bath. When your mind is clear, when you rid yourself of the fears and worries that crowd your mind, and when you gradually relax yourself, you will cherish the moment when you can connect deeply with your subconscious mind for your answer. This solution may come to you as an imagery. It may even be a "light bulb" moment that will lead you to the appropriate steps to take. To build on this, your solution may come from a recent or distant memory of similar circumstances that have resulted in a desired outcome for you previously. The answer could also appear as a flash memory of an incident, a person whom you have met that you know instinctively, is the solution to your problem.

So what is the subconscious mind? The subconscious mind is a construct. We cannot see it, touch it, or measure it, because it is not a physical thing. It is an abstraction that describes functions of the human mind that are unlike the conscious, cognitive functions we can perform at will, like spelling, arithmetic, typing, reciting, recalling facts, using logic, and following instructions. The subconscious seems comprised of somewhat mysterious mental operations that seem to operate beyond conscious control. Here are the functions of the subconscious mind.Stored Memory: A repository for long-forgotten memories that may be a source of inexplicable fears, preferences, and idiosyncrasies. Creativity and Intuition: The ability to pull together seemingly unrelated bits of information and arrive at new conclusions and possibilities, which we've never before formulated.Intuition: The ability to sense cues and patterns of activity in the environment of which we are not consciously aware, and yet, which alert us to events that are about to happen,a near accident, for example.Mind/Body Monitoring and Healing: As the link between mind and body, the subconscious seems to exert an influence over personal sickness and health. The mind is the true healer, fueled by the power of belief.

The Dream Weaver: Hypnotherapists believe that the subconscious remains active during sleep, processing the events and emotions of the day via dreams, while the conscious mind rests. The Connection to Cosmic Consciousness: In sleep, meditation, quiet contemplation, or prayer, and sometimes in what some have described as a blinding flash of enlightenment and insight, the subconscious opens up a link, an interface, to universal knowledge and understanding. The result might be a religious conversion, an epiphany, innovation and invention, a solution to a previously unsolvable problem, or a miraculous and spontaneous healing. The Inner Spirit and Higher Wisdom: There are those who say that the subconscious is very much a part of our spiritual nature, the essence of God, the kingdom of heaven, within ourselves.Accessing the Subconscious.By accessing your subconscious, you might become more creative, intuitive, healthier, and insightful, with more control over thoughts, emotions, habits, and motivation. It doesn't happen overnight. This level of self-understanding, mental discipline and personal empowerment can take years to develop. Yet, there are ways to facilitate the process. Begin with the intention to increase your awareness of your subconscious and establish a communication with it, and cultivate a desire to learn what it can teach you.

So now do you understand why most of the law of attraction teachers advocate you to meditate frequently and practise self hypnosis to manifest your goals and dreams? By meditating and applying self hypnosis, you will be immersed in a deeply relaxed state. You will then be able to connect to you subconscious mind to convey your intention and get your answer easier than cracking your brains using your conscious thinking. But we should not dismiss the fact that conscious thinking is still important in your daily routines.

Give attention to your dreams. In Conscious Dreaming, Robert Moss, shaman and professor of philosophy, writes that dreams are spiritual tools through which we can learn about the future, receive guidance, and resolve unfinished business. Moss recommends keeping a dream diary, to understand the symbols, patterns and themes of dreams. He advises us to ask of our dreams: "What do I need to know? What do I need to do?" Engage the services of a board certified hypnotherapist who can help you understand more about your subconscious. With hypnotherapy, you can eliminate undesirable habits, resolve inner conflicts, enhance your motivation and self-confidence, heal traumas, and surmount irrational fears and phobias.Take time to relax, quiet your mind, and develop an inner focus. If you have trouble relaxing, purchase a relaxation training CD,you can find them on Internet web sites such as The Hypnosis Network. Relaxation will help you with reflection, meditation, sleep, and self-hypnosis, all of which will enhance your ability to access your subconscious.

It could even become a life changing moment when you connect yourself with higher consciousness. She may gift you with the plans and steps on how you can achieve your higher purpose in life. This is not a joke. Just like in the movie "The Matrix", we may be too choked up with the "realities" in our lives that make us stressful, fearful, anxious or frustrated. This resulted in us feeling trapped and afraid to pursue our true passion in life - a purpose that we know deep in our heart is best for us.

This is where your connection to the subconscious mind is so powerful. When you constantly convey your intentions to the subconscious mind, you will slowly learn to have faith in life and take on the opportunities that she has presented to you. When you believe in the power of your subconscious mind, you will no longer doubt that she will connect you to the like-minded people, circumstances, events and resources to fulfill your heart-felt desires.Writing down your goals, using visualization and positive affirmations are some of the best ways to communicate your intention to your subconscious mind. But have you been applying these techniques correctly to create the success that you want to achieve? Better yet, are you aware of certain methods that may even speed up your goal manifestation process?
