Age Gap Relationships

By Sienna Nalin

Dating has changed over the years, and with it changing so has the typical dating age for couples. It is actually starting to be accepted for there to be couples with an age gap. Since there are other forms of couples starting to be accepted, so is this.

If you did now know it, the perfect age gap is roughly around 5 years. In this case though, the man must be older. It has been studied to that a lot of women would prefer and older guy and men also would prefer not to be a boy toy.

The majority of respondents said an age gap was preferable, however; forty percent said three to four years was the ideal age gap, while thirty percent said five to six years. The survey, found that many women would be happier with a larger age gap, with one in three saying they would date a man seven years older.

Most people who do see a younger woman with an older guy assume that the reason that they are with that guy is for his money and it would not work. People typically think of them as gold-diggers which is very stereotypical.

Those in favor of an age gap said the main benefit was that "you can learn from the different perspective of the other partner", while four in ten said "the youthfulness of the younger partner rubs off on the older partner".

With us living in a world where things are always changing, people are starting to really become more accepting of a lot of things. Such things are age gap relationships. With these types of relationships they do come with some problems because of the age and one has to be prepared for them.
