This can be affecting the marriage. An example of this is when the individual has been affected during the childhood years. They may have come from a dysfunctional background. When this happens, they can battle to have intimacy or they may trouble expressing themselves in a particular way. They may also have difficulty expressing themselves properly. This obviously affects the marriage, and once one works on these problems, things can begin to improve.

In terms of a divorce, it is imperative for a child to be counseled. Sometimes, divorce can't be avoided. However, even when the couple know that this is going to happen, they need to come together and have therapy since a sense of closure should help them part their separate ways. There is nothing worse than parting when you are bitter about something.
