Many folk ignore the condition and turn to alcohol or drugs. Even binge eating or shopping can feel as if you eliminating those negative thoughts. It can also be something that goes back to the childhood years which will involve some sort of abuse. A child may have blocked this out of their mind, but it will still be in the subconscious.

Their personality will also play a part here. For example, someone who is more extroverted may need to talk to other folk who have been through similar traumas in their lives. This can help them feel less isolated in their lives. Group therapy can be the best bet for someone like this.

Many people are not even aware of some of the issues that they have been exposed to. Memories can come to the surface during therapy.
