There are countries which majority of its people are living in poverty and experiencing hardships when compared to the rest of the world. They lack enough access on basic human needs which the government has a hard time providing to them because of lacking resources available. Health and education needs are inadequately met which makes surviving hard and the opportunities for improvement of their lives are lesser.

This is where volunteers from around the world come in to help these families in dire need of it. One of these chances are the Vietnam mission trips that will bring you to their to live with the indigenous people for a few days. This is a communist country located in Southeast Asia that has just started to recover from the hardships of war they have experienced before.

Agriculture is the primary source of income for the majority of the people but information technologies and manufacturing industries are there as well. There are various kinds of mission trips to this country and it usually consists of healthcare and education assistance. These fees do not usually include the airfare and visa needed to go there but only the accommodations and transportation needed when in the country already.

Medical professionals are the usual volunteers during medical missions on order to give the best possible service. They would check the people for various health problems that might be affecting them in there. Medicines are also being given out and they would be treating anyone the best they can with their abilities and equipment available.

Specific conditions are being addressed as well such as providing eyeglasses to those having a hard time to see clearly. Dental check ups for improving their dental health are done as well as providing dentures to those who need it. Wheelchairs and other kinds of walking aids are given to people with disabilities too.

Education is given about various fields and skills that may be helpful in improvement of their conditions. The volunteers are teaching them English and skills like swimming which helps in their survival as drowning was found to be the number one cause of death for children in the country. This would help them survive being in water either by accident or not.

Fun activities are included in the missions to provide leisure to the people and the volunteers like watching movies, going to the beach and picnics. Friendships and relationships are created and improved by doing these activities. It is also a time for them to enjoy and relax.
