Your doctor would prescribe some sort of medications that help in controlling your addiction. At first, the patient is prescribed a very heavy dose of medicine so that he doesn't relapse again. After a couple of days, the dosage is reduced to a certain extent just to check if you are able to cope with it or not. You should refrain from drinking alcohol whilst you are going through the process of detoxification.

Your meetings with the specialist would stay extremely visit all through the detoxification procedure so you don't wind up drinking once more. It is regular that as opposed to giving the obligation to the patient, another relative or companion is given the duty to ensure that the individual is doing things as indicated by the recommended arrangement.

Every individual's way of reacting to a certain situation is different this is the reason why some individuals find it an easy process. They manage it very well and are not fazed out of the withdrawal symptoms. On the other hand, some people remain unable to cope with their withdrawal symptoms and find the whole process very hard and difficult almost unbearable.

You should know that no matter how successful you are in completing your withdrawal process, you would still feel the urge to drink. But, you should know how to control that urge and compress your feelings to binge drink. You don't want to end up in the same cycle again therefore keep yourself strong and don't get caught in such situation again.

There would be days where you would find it hard to sleep, eat or drink but, if you remain persistent you will achieve what you were aiming for without any difficulty at all. If you have the required will power, then you would be amazed by the end results you gather out of the process of detoxification.

No one would be able to help you if you are not willing to help yourself. Still, you can ask your loved ones to support you as it makes the whole process a bit more simpler and family friendly. If you are given support and cheered up for what you're doing, it would motivate you even further and you will not deviate from your end goal. You may also benefit from support and counselling as it keeps on reminding you that what you did was wrong and you shouldn't do it again no matter what happens.

Relapse can happen even if the individual have gone through the process of detoxification. You may have to take your medication for a long time period just to prevent you from relapsing in the future. If in the past.
