Once you have a list of potential photographers to choose from, the next important step is to meet those photographers whose portfolios wowed you. Meeting with a potential cameraman is important to ensure that you click. You should not waste time with any cameraman if you do not like his work. It is also important to have great chemistry with your cameraman. Remember that your cameraman will be all over you from the morning of your big day until the end. It is thus very important that you enjoy being around him.

Before you make this vital decision, you should also compare quotes from at least three photographers. This does not however mean that you should give preference to the cheapest provider. Remember that you will only get what you pay for. While there might be some exceptions, in general, better photographers usually charge more.

If you want quality wedding pictures, you should also go for experience. While such photographers are likely to charge you more, they will definitely offer you quality services in return. An ideal wedding photographer would be one with at least ten years of active practice in the industry. In addition to the ten years, the photographer also ought to have shot in a number of similar weddings before.

If you can find a cameraman who is licensed, that will be an added advantage. Being in possession of a valid licensed should be proof enough that the cameraman is reputable. While you can hire someone who is not licensed and still get good results, your best option would be to hire a cameraman with license.

Signing a contract is another important step that you should not ignore. Should the cameraman take down payment from you and fail to show up during the wedding, you will need to claim your money back. This will however be only possible if you have a proof that you paid him some deposit.

With the above tips in mind, finding a good wedding photographer should be very simple. It is however important that you start the search early enough. You should give yourself at least six months if you are to find the best cameraman.
