Not all courses require your to complete you college before enrolling. However, you still have to finish three years if you have a four year program before admitting yourself. You need to finish your bachelors degree before you obtained the degree.

You are also required to take the admission exams. This is one of the requirement when you are enrolling in an accredited and reputable school. Make sure to perform well in your exam results to have a higher chance to be accepted. You read all details, especially about the rules of conduct, eligibility requirements, test regulations and the testing procedures. You should complete your doctor of optometry program. This is for four years and you must be enrolled in an accredited institution. Your tuition fee depends on the school and their policies or regulations. You must also consider enrolling for a residency postgraduate course.

This course allows every optometrist to work in a population that are underprivileged. Through this experience, you will obtain the necessary knowledge and skills that you need for the profession. This is a helpful practice, since you will be working with different kinds of people in a community.

The states are also requiring each practitioner to obtain a license. You have to complete first your course in Doctor of optometry before getting the license. You have to take various exams in written and orally. You also need to take some additional exams if required by the state. For a license renewal, you must check the requirements in the state. This is necessary to keep your license current and active.
