Using A Solar Heat Exchanger To Heat Your Home

By Linda Maynard

When people are trying to find ways to save money running their homes there are various places that they can look. One of the most common places for people to start is with their energy consumption. This is a very popular place to make changes because it also helps the planet at the same time and that is something that everybody is concerned about. Using a solar heat exchanger is one good way to do just that.

When trying to save money where your homes energy consumption is concerned there are a lot of places that you can look. In large part this is because over the last few years there have been many products that have come out in an attempt to do this very thing. First we need to realize where our heating and cooling comes from before we can figure out ways to save money with it.

The renewable energy is one of the best ways that as a planet we can keep ourselves from running out of energy and also from destroying our world. The burning of fossil fuels has been shown to be dangerous because of the carbon emissions that are expended when they are burned or otherwise used. The need to stop these from being used is huge.

This means using things like solar power or a solar heat exchanger. These are great little devices that take energy from and convert that energy to heat that we can use to make hot water. This can give us all a great amount of savings all year round. There are a couple kinds of exchangers and technologies used to make this happen.

The first is a liquid to liquid method. With this method there is a chemical liquid that circulates through the pipes of the machine. As the solar panels gather sunlight and create heat in the coils where the chemical liquid is, that now hot liquid circulates around and makes its way to a tank that holds your water.

The heated chemical filled pipes now circulate around the water tank and then end up heating the water inside. The other methods essentially work the same way but they just use different things to heat things. This is why they are called exchangers. One thing gets heated, transfers the heat to something else and then gets heated again and repeats the entire process.

This method actually works to heat water throughout the day and whenever you need it. It also works in the winter to heat the air that goes through a blower just like the natural gas heater would work. They all work on the exact same principles except instead of natural gas it uses the solar power to do all of the work.

A solar heat exchanger is a great way to cut down your gas bills. In some homes as the gas bills get higher and higher people are going broke trying to keep up. In some cases they are getting disconnected because they no longer can keep up financially. While there are other ways, this is one of the easiest to install and cheapest in the long run to replace your natural gas systems.
