Planning A Wedding: Tips And Tricks

By Carla Rossouw

In which month will you have your wedding? Roses, daisies or succulents? Planning the perfect wedding involves a multitude of decisions. Whether it is your wedding, or a wedding that you are planning, you will find tips to create success as you read.

It is important to get high quality wedding photos so that you can truly cherish them throughout your life and hand them down to your descendants. Select a professional to take your pictures, and do not be afraid to go above your budget if you have the money to ensure that you get the best photographs possible.

If you have planned a wedding outdoors, include a backup plan just in case there is rain or any other unexpected weather conditions on your wedding day. Have some tents on hand, or choose a venue that provides both indoor and outdoor space. In case of soggy ground, lay down an artificial surface on major walkways to avoid muddy shoes.

For couples who enjoy the jet-setting lifestyle, incorporate thematic decorations that convey a love for travel. Use a little artistic skill to get your invitations appearing like aged postcards from a far-away land. On the date, a vintage suitcase can be used as a display piece. Simply fill it with favors, photos, or wedding programs and prop it open in a prominent location.

Different countries have plants that are not always native to where you live and may not be easily accessible, or be able to tolerate an extremely humid, or dry environment. Consult with a florist to see which flowers are in season or most readily available at the time of your wedding.

One affordable alternative to elaborate floral arrangements is placing multiple potted plants of varying sizes throughout the ceremony and reception sites. Glazed ceramic pots in colorful hues will look great, or you can opt to paint and adorn the pottery yourself. Once the wedding is over, the plants can be taken home as wedding favors by the guests, or they can be planted by the newlyweds in their yard.

Wedding dresses can be quite an expense. When shopping for your dress, consider dresses that may not be categorized as a wedding dress. You should check out the selection of bridesmaid dresses at the bridal store. One could fit your style at only a fraction of the cost. Even if this dress is not perfect and you need some adjustments made to make it your dream dress, it could still run you quite a bit less then an actual wedding dress.

Check your wedding venue to emsure that there will be enough room for a dance floor. There is little worse than a crammed dance floor, so make sure to move tables and chairs prior to grooving!

Choosing to hire a consultant for your wedding can be a smart choice; they plan the entire process for you, and offer help when you need it the most. Few social events carry as much potential for stress as weddings do, and there are also a larger number of details that can go wrong. It is good to have a wedding expert handle a lot of the planning process and deal with any emergencies that may crop up. You and your loved ones need to have the opportunity to enjoy everything about your wedding day.

Try to plan your reception for the afternoon. People drink less during this time and you will not spend as much on alcohol. It will also be cheaper if you have a lunch time reception and you can have better food or use the money saved to invest in your honeymoon!

Personalize your wedding by including things that represent your spouse-to-be, and the bond between the both of you. Pick out a theme fitting for the time the two of you have spent together.

It's tempting to do things the way your family has always done them to keep the peace. Keep in mind that your wedding is about you and your partner, not your extended family. If it's a choice between pleasing your relatives or pleasing yourself and your partner, you have to do what pleases you. Appreciate their enthusiasm, but let them know that things are being done the way that you want them to be done. This way you get exactly what you want for your wedding day.

To help you prepare dancing for your first dance, you should practice dancing in a long skirt a few days before your wedding. Though you may have warmed up to your ability to move about in your skirt, it may be a bit cumbersome for your groom, so put on some music and dance together. This helps remove any awkwardness that he might feel, especially if the dress that you wear is puffy.

Any female participants in your wedding, such as the bridesmaids, should aim to be ready before you are. You should be the focus, during the last minutes before the ceremony. If they are worried about getting themselves ready, they can't help you.

After reading these tips, it's safe to say that you probably weren't aware of even half of these ideas. And that's because no one ever realizes just how much goes into planning a wedding until they're actually staring at it in the face. A wedding is perhaps the most detail-oriented celebration out there, so be sure that you're using these tips to help you out.
